My Hero

And not because he can gracefully drink a margarita the size of our baby(although that is also something I love about him)...he's my hero because he has been amazingly supportive during a super stressful and uncertain time over the past week.

I lost my job on Monday but I'll spare the details cause that's not what this post is about. It's about my husband, who when I broke the news, didn't get mad or upset. He simply gave me a hug and told me it would be alright(and then promptly created an interactive spreadsheet calculating our expenses and our bottom line - haha, you knew that was coming :)).

At any rate, I've gone through the full range of emotion this week and he's been by my side on repeat the whole time - "we'll be ok". Not to mention he's kept up with house chores, helping with the baby, and even encouraged me to go to the gym so I can burn off some of this toxic energy I've got cycling through my veins.

You pick out a partner for yourself and hope you chose wisely but you never really know till it's put to the test. Then your little world does a 180 and you see that someone has your back 100%.

Amidst the chaos, I've felt safe and loved this past week and I owe that to you Dave. "Thanks" doesn't really cover it, but hopefully you already know how grateful I am to have you....

And to the other daddy in my life...

Happy Father's Day to my sweet husband. You are a GREAT daddy and Robbie, Sasha, and I love you very much. This parenting thing is tricky and trying at times, but I'm glad it's me and you together. Team us babe. Love.

Happy Father's Day Daddy

I'm as daddy's girl as you get. This is probably due to the fact that that man is my biggest fan and always has been. You'd never know I was quite the challenge for he and my mom in highschool and that I put more gray hairs on his handsome head than I care to admit. Nope, he doesn't hold a grudge - he's my biggest cheerleader and if you could see the pride and love he has for me, you'd think I graduated from Harvard on a full scholarship and started my own fortune 500 company.

Back when I used to know everything, I was well aware that I was loved. Did I take that for granted? Sure I did. Testing limits and patience and the extent of the word "unconditional". As time has marched on and our relationship has evolved from the off the shelf father/daughter variety, I have a greater appreciation for just how good I have it. Everyone has parents. Your given a mom and a dad and it's luck of the draw if they're any good. I may not be rich or glamorous or a genius, but I hit the jackpot in this department. Two great parents who love me, my husband, my brother, and their 2 *adorable* grandsons with all their hearts.

My dad, our Captain on the Cruise Ship Dougherty, has done his best to provide for us, love us, and keep us on the straight and narrow. All this and he's one of the most fun people I know to hang out with. So I'm gonna wrap this up with a big hug and kiss for the Dad who I owe it all too! Love you so much Daddy xoxo

Solids

We be eatin, we be eatin now

And nekid eatin just makes sense. Yes, we sometimes use bibs to provide protection against those messy stain happy orange fruits and veggies. But when you just want to get reckless and make a mess without a care in the world, eat nekid.

Addiction

Baby Monitors are like crack. Use it once and you're adddicted. Not only can I keep tabs on the greatest crib protesting anti-nap activist of all times, I get the added bonus of watching him when he wears himself out and goes into his most peaceful state

Cute right? Yep, it's cute.

The Office

Our first visit to grandaddy at the office. How cute is it that they were in (unplanned) matching outfits?!

I don't have to choose

You know how sometimes you take a bunch of pictures hoping to get the perfect shot? Well when they're of your kid and you're kids as cute as Robbie, it makes it pretty damn hard to choose a favorite. So this time, I'm posting all of them. He's adorbs and I love him to pieces. Even on nights like tonight where he protested sleep right up until 10pm. He's the sweetest and most wonderful part of my day...
